Qualifications

• Broad academic knowledge and applied background in clinical research philosophy.
• Broad knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations for clinical trials.
• Broad knowledge of all phases of clinical research and study startup through closeout.
• Experience supervising, maintaining and developing clinical staff and conducting reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day staffing operations for assigned research programs, including staffing Clinical Research Managers and Supervisors.
• Manage 4–5 direct reports and oversee 20–25 FTE clinical research staff.
• Develop workflows and training for all staff; participate in recruitment and interviews for key roles.
• Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with UCSF and external stakeholders to optimize study coordination and staffing.
