Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to organize and coordinate care of patients on oncology clinical trials across the Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role focuses on protocol evaluation, eligibility, and data management without direct bedside care, with postings spanning OSU Main Campus and affiliated outpatient centers.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and staff, monitoring patient safety, and ensuring protocol adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent required.
• Current Ohio nursing license or board eligibility.
• SoCRA or ACRP certification preferred.
• Significant experience in clinical research and patient care.
• Computer literacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient response and complications.
• Develops and revises patient care orders.
• Educates and directs protocol compliance with physicians and staff nurses.
• Assists in developing tools to meet requirements of new protocols.
• Manages protocols with increased clinical complexities including translational investigator-initiated research as well as multi center trials.
• Collects and enters data for all patients enrolled on protocol.
• Participates in analyzing research data.
• Communicates with outside sponsors regarding protocol and patient status.
• Assesses patient reaction to modifications or treatment that are part of the protocol.
• Acts as a patient advocate by providing education and responding to questions from patients about protocols.
• Works with patients to ensure adherence with the protocol.
• Serves as clinical resource for CTO disease team members.
