Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to organize and coordinate patient care on oncology clinical trials within the Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role supports eligibility assessments, patient registration, and follow-up, without direct bedside care.

Opportunities across OSU locations include the James and Stefanie Spielman centers, with assignments matched to openings as they arise. Travel within the Columbus region may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or allied health field.
• Current Ohio nursing license or equivalent.
• SoCRA or ACRP certification preferred; substantial clinical research trial experience.
• Proficient with computerized data entry and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient response and complications.
• Develops and revises patient care orders.
• Educates protocol compliance with physicians and staff nurses.
• Assists in developing tools to meet protocol requirements.
• Manages protocols with complex translational and multi-center trials.
• Collects and enters data for all patients enrolled on protocol.
• Participates in analysis of research data.
• Communicates with sponsors regarding protocol and patient status.
• Assesses patient reactions to protocol modifications.
• Acts as a patient advocate and responds to questions about protocols.
• Works with patients to ensure adherence to the protocol.
• Serves as a clinical resource for CTO team.
