Job Description

Responsible for screening patients for participation in clinical trials, enrolling patients onto studies, monitoring protocol implementation, completing required forms, and reporting results. This position has a flexible schedule, which may require evenings and weekends as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Recruit and enroll research subjects onto clinical research projects according to study protocols.
  • Assess research subjects' eligibility for inclusion based on contracts and protocol knowledge.
  • Verify eligibility criteria with medical records and discuss informed consent with subjects.
  • Interact with subjects before and throughout the treatment, assisting with scheduling appointments and follow‑up tests.
  • Learn and monitor protocol adherence by clinicians, nurses, and fellow researchers.
  • Identify protocol compliance problems and notify the principal investigator or research nurse.
  • Extract data from hospital records, outpatient charts, and private physician offices to complete case report forms and enter data into a computerized system.
  • Assist clinic staff with insurance approvals and scheduling of tests, admissions, or outpatient visits.
  • Assist investigators with correspondence with the IRB.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1‑2 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, including web‑based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Physical Requirements

Light work: may require lifting up to 20 pounds. Job is sedentary but requires standing and moving throughout the hospital campus.

Pay Range

$19.23 – $30.77 per hour. Compensation may exceed the base rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other pay practices.
