Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Fountain Valley/Long Beach is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support trials across therapeutic areas. You will recruit, enroll and follow up with study participants under protocol, SOPs, GCP/ICH and FDA rules, coordinating with the trial team to meet enrollment goals. After-hours support may be required and compensated.

Strong data management, regulatory documentation, and collaboration with investigators are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical research experience required.
• Knowledge of clinical trial federal, state and local regulation requirements preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to read and understand clinical trial protocols required.
• Strong data management skills and attention to detail required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology/environment required.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat) required.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, Coordinator ensures protocol compliance for all study participants.
• Collaborates with study investigator to determine eligibility of potential participants.
• Screens potential participants, presents trial concepts, and enrolls participants in study protocol.
• Ensures research quality by adhering to SOPs, GCP/ICH, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinates patient care in compliance with protocol requirements and maintains investigational drug accountability when needed.
• Reviews participant status with investigators and documents findings thoroughly.
• Responsible for data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting; schedules monitoring and audits.
• Maintains regulatory binder documentation and participates in trainings.
• Provides education to personnel and vendors on clinical research standards.
• Ensures a safe environment and HIPAA compliance; supports after-hours coverage when required.
• Be punctual, interact positively, and follow company policies.
