Job Summary

The Mongan Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) (https://www.monganinstitute.org/) seeks to hire a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator I to work under the supervision of the Director of the Mongan Institute and Senior Clinical Project Manager to provide research assistant support on a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) (federally) funded research project. This study aims to compare two different system-level approaches to improve Residential Care Worker well-being and resiliency to reduce burnout and staff turnover: (1) integrated resiliency training and task sharing and (2) a virtual workplace improvement learning collaborative aimed at reducing administrative burdens and increasing workflow efficiencies. The Mongan Institute is an innovative transdisciplinary research institute at MGH consisting of 13 centers and programs spanning data science to delivery science with over 175 faculty, over 40 research fellows, as well as medical students and undergraduate trainees.

Qualifications

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide research assistant support on a PCORI-funded research project.
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific presentations, PowerPoints, and documents.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize relevant data.
  • Develop data tables for research manuscripts and presentations.
  • Organize, coordinate, and participate in research-related meetings and seminars.
  • Provide academically related administrative support to the director and senior clinical project manager.
  • Maintain and update study databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents (e.g., IRB submissions, progress reports).
  • Monitor adverse events and report findings to the senior clinical project manager, ensuring compliance with research protocols.
  • Collaborate with the senior clinical project manager in ensuring that research standards, including ethical and regulatory requirements, are met throughout the study.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and publications summarizing research findings for dissemination.
  • Provide general support to the senior clinical project manager in managing study logistics and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

B.A./B.S. degree required. A Master's Degree in public health and/or prior coursework in health-related topics, health policy, and statistical methods is desirable. Prior work experience as a research assistant or coordinator in a clinical and/or academic environment is preferred, especially experience with public health or behavioral interventions. The candidate must possess:

  • Excellent writing skills and experience working on scientific manuscripts and grant applications.
  • Superior organizational, administrative, management, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, experience working with databases, spreadsheet, and word processing programs, and ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to interact professionally with office staff and research faculty.
  • Excellent English language skills (grammar and spelling), with good telephone and in-person communication skills.
  • Intellectual independence and initiative.
  • Basic statistical analytical skills are preferred.
  • Willingness to make a minimum of a 1-2 year commitment is required, and previous research experience is preferred.
