Job summary

UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center seeks an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to support early detection studies, including colorectal and pancreatic initiatives. You will help manage protocols, recruit and consent participants, collect data, and handle specimens in a collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities include IRB submissions, data entry, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate, compliant study conduct and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in biology or related field.
• Experience performing clinical research duties and understanding protocols.
• Ability to screen patients for eligibility and manage study plans.
• Experience collecting and abstracting data from medical records.
• Knowledge of Human Subjects Protection requirements.
• Ability to perform basic molecular biology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initiation, implementation, and management of clinical studies.
• Recruit and consent participants; collect and enter research data.
• Submit protocol applications/amendments to local IRB; maintain records.
• Process and store blood samples; perform sample handling and shipping.
• Communicate study progress to supervisor, PI and team; collaborate as needed.
