Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences seeks an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to support the Early Detection and Prevention Initiative at Moores Cancer Center. You will help with initiation, implementation, and management of clinical studies, participant recruitment, data entry, and IRB submissions under supervision.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and ability to work in a dynamic research environment; travel and weekend/evening hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical research environment.
• Experience interpreting medical charts and abstracting data from medical records.
• Ability to screen patients for eligibility and manage study protocols.
• Experience handling blood samples and related lab procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initiation, implementation, and management of clinical studies.
• Recruit and consent participants; collect and enter research data.
• Maintain accurate and complete research files and IRB submissions.
• Perform sample processing and shipping per protocol requirements.
• Communicate study progress to supervisor and team; adhere to confidentiality.
