Overview

My client, a growing and agile medical device company, is seeking a CRA Manager to lead their team of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and provide oversight to Clinical Trial Assistants (CTAs).

This is a key senior-level role focused on driving the success of post-approval clinical studies, with the opportunity to make a significant impact in a close-knit, high-performing clinical operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Line management of CRAs and alignment of clinical activities across ongoing and future studies.
• Oversight of CTAs in collaboration with an existing eTMF Manager (who provides performance oversight but does not manage directly).
• Act as the senior in-house CRA, with ownership of a key post-approval study.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Clinical Project Management, eTMF, Regulatory, and QA to ensure smooth execution of trials.
• Serve as a point of escalation for CRA-related challenges and site-level operational issues.

Performance & Quality

• Ensure consistency in CRA and CTA performance, training, and compliance with internal SOPs and external regulatory standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of clinical team members.

Candidate Profile

Experience

• Significant prior experience as a CRA Manager, Senior CRA, or Clinical Team Lead.
• Demonstrated success in managing or mentoring CRAs in a hands-on clinical environment.
• Medical device experience is essential; strong pharmaceutical experience may be considered but is less ideal due to the CRA team’s depth of device expertise.

Skills

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to align teams and processes.
• Solid knowledge of GCP, FDA, and ISO regulations relevant to clinical trials.
• Strategic mindset with operational flexibility in a small company setting.

Location

• Must be based on the East Coast to effectively collaborate with internal teams and study timelines.
