Job summary

Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope in Duarte, CA seeks a Clinical Research Assistant I to support day-to-day operations of multiple clinical protocols in Outcomes Research. You will assist with prescreening, consent, data entry, and regulatory tasks to ensure study integrity.

The role requires strong medical terminology literacy, data extraction from records, and collaboration with investigators and clinical teams, with independence and adherence to Good Clinical Practice standards.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and comprehending medical terminology.
• Reading, identifying and extracting pertinent data from medical records.
• REDCap experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple clinical research protocols, ensuring accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate all study activities, including participant scheduling, visit tracking, reminders, questionnaires, specimen workflows, and protocol‑specific documentation.
• Recruit, screen, enroll, consent, and follow up with study participants in accordance with protocol.
• Collect, manage, analyze, and submit study data while maintaining data integrity and adherence to protocol requirements.
• Perform protocol‑specific clinical and research duties, including specimen collection, processing, handling, and safety compliance.
• Monitor research activities for protocol adherence, identify issues or deviations, and communicate findings to investigators and leadership.
• Train and mentor new clinical research staff while fostering collaborative relationships with participants and investigators.
• Function independently with minimal oversight, support special projects, maintain an efficient work environment, and engage in ongoing professional development.
