Position Overview

Apex Skin and Apex Clinical Research Center Team is a rapidly growing skincare facility that empowers employees to deliver exceptional patient experiences. We are currently looking for a talented candidate for the role of Clinical Research Assistant/Phlebotomist. The Clinical Research Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible forassistingthe Research Department with coordinating,implementingand conducting research projects.Ideal candidates are certified in Medical Assisting and phlebotomy, and demonstrate strong communication skills, clinical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This is a full-time, hourly position and will require travel to the following Apex Skin locations: Mayfield Heights and Lorain.

Schedule
  • Fulltime, Monday through Friday 8:0AM - 5:00PM (Subject to change)
  • Three (3) days per week in Mayfield Heights, and two (2) days per week in Lorain
  • Daytime clinical hours with occasional variations based on provider and patient needs
Essential Functions:
  • Assists with the coordination, implementation, and conduct of research projects ensuring adherence to research protocol requirements which may include: maintenance of regulatory documents and binders, data management, IRB submissions and communication to study team
  • Communicateswith sponsors, monitors, researchpersonnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance.
  • Collaborateswith study team to schedule pre-site selection visits, site initiation visits, webinars,monitoringand close-out visits
  • Completes regulatory documents, datacaptureand other source documentation
  • Assistsstudy team in recruitment of potential study participants, as directed
  • May berequiredtoattainand maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing, photography and other testing asrequired
  • Assistswith preparation for audits, on site monitoring visits, pre study visits, and other sponsor visits to site
  • Mayassistin the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, records, CTMS, etc.
  • Develops andmaintainsprofessional relationships, strong interpersonal skills, including frequent and open effective communication with stakeholders
  • Mayparticipatein the conduct and documentation of the informed consent process.
  • Mayassistin prescreening activities, including chart review, patient intake interviews, phone conversations, and communication with company stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Years of experience: 1-2 in a clinical environment
  • Relevant skillset: Organization skills, computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting with periodic standing and walking
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for documentation, computer entry, and clinical procedures
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds
  • Visual acuity sufficient to review medical records, lab data, and electronic systems
  • Work is performed in a clinical research environment with direct patient interaction
  • Exposure to biological specimens, laboratory equipment, and clinical testing materials
  • Requires strict adherence to IRB, GCP, HIPAA, OSHA, and Apex safety standards
  • May require multitasking in a deadline-driven research setting
