A leading health institution seeks a Clinical Research Assistant to support various research projects. Responsibilities include patient recruitment, assisting with IRB submissions, conducting EKGs, and maintaining research records. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree and possess strong organizational and analytical skills.
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and Clinical Research Coordinator, assist in the recruitment and ongoing conduct of multiple clinical research projects. Interview patients to gather information, prepare and maintain study records, enter data via computer, and clean data in preparation for analysis. Review relevant literature, participate in developing research protocols, and assist in writing publications. Perform EKGs, take vital signs during research-based monitoring tests, and perform blood spinning and shipment of blood and tissue samples as required by protocol.
Basic Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social or Life Sciences or related area, including courses in research methodologies and microcomputer systems.
Experience: Three to six months of on-the-job experience to familiarize with research studies. Knowledge of research methodology, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and technical ability to operate computer systems.
Prior experience working on grants, especially federally funded, is preferred but not required.
