Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant II to support multiple clinical studies by recruiting, screening, consenting, enrolling, and following participants. You will coordinate study visits, explain procedures, and manage data through CRFs, EDC systems, and EPIC, while supporting lab activities and QA/QC checks.

You will also assist with regulatory documentation, study startup and closeout, and provide operational support to the CRA Lead and study teams.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Associate's Degree in medical or science related field or Bachelor’s Degree in medical or science related field and no prior experience.
• Experience: 2 years with High School Diploma or 1 year with Associate's Degree

Responsibilities

• Understands visit schedules, criteria and protocol requirements for low complexity trials; schedules research visits.
• Assists research staff by completing protocol related tasks.
• Reviews and abstracts information from medical records including eligibility criteria.
• Enters data into case report forms or data collection systems and maintains study documentation.
• Assists with data queries and edits for accuracy.
• Compiles data for regulatory requirements and sponsor submissions.
• Maintains existing databases and ensures data integrity.
• Performs QA/QC clinical analyses and data checks.
• Prepares reports for IRB or sponsor audits and closeout.
• Recruits and enrolls patients in research studies, including consent.
• Assists with screening and recruitment for more complex trials.
• Identifies incomplete or missing data and works to correct errors.
• Orders and maintains research supplies; ensures equipment is functional.
• May perform phlebotomy, vital signs, and EKGs as needed.
