University of Maryland Baltimore is currently seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to join the School of Medicine - Department of Diagnostic Radiology. The position is responsible for assisting with the performance of research projects in a clinical setting, including recruitment and retention of study subjects and collection and organization of data. The Research Assistant, Clinical is expected to work independently and knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.

Essential Functions
- Communicate directly with participants regarding the research study. Perform data collection by conducting research interviews, administering behavioral tests, collecting or assisting in the collection of biological samples, and assisting with imaging protocols. Recruit and screen subjects for research studies according to IRB approved protocols. Verifies participant eligibility; obtains consent and enrollment; assures accurate demographic information for follow-up; maintains contact information and rapport with participant for the duration of the study.
- Maintain database files and reports using computer applications such as Microsoft Excel/Access and REDCap. Perform data checks, audits, and data cleaning. Check validity and accuracy of data ensuring compliance with quality control requirements and study relevance.
- Coordinate participant payments and record keeping.
- Perform administrative duties such as: assist with clerical and fiscal monitoring of payments and supplies for study participants; developing protocol manuals; responding to requests and questions from individuals, institutions, government agencies, and funding agencies.
- Provide feedback to the Principle Investigator and other research personnel regarding research protocols and materials by providing study analysis and forming conclusions and recommendations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study related to the research of the clinical setting.
Experience: Prior clinical research experience preferred. Experience with phlebotomy and/or administration of neuropsychological tests is highly desirable.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

HIRING RANGE: $48,000 - $53,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
