Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Clinical Research Aide to support daily clinical research activities in the Department of Pathology with the Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM). This role may involve data extraction from patient records, data entry, and lab testing for approved studies to ensure data validity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory preferred.
  • Experience in pipetting and working in a biosafety cabinet and handling human specimens is preferred.

  • Perform daily clinical research activities in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and IRB policies.
  • Assist with assessing patient records and extract data for specified clinical research protocols.
  • Complete data entry and scan research records; generate reports to ensure data validity.

Job description

Position Summary

Clinical Research Aide will perform daily clinical research activities in accordance with Human Subjects Protection, Good Clinical Practice regulations, IRB policies and approved protocols administered by the Department of Pathology with partnership with the Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM); may assist with assessing patient records required for specified clinical research protocols to extract data; completes data entry, scans research records; performs tests on human samples in the clinical lab for an approved clinical trial or study; generates reports and reviews to ensure validity of data supports activities to ensure compliance with all Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and the study sponsor.

Job Requirements

High School graduate required. Bachelor’s Degree and 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory preferred. Experience in pipetting and working in a biosafety cabinet and handling human specimens is preferred.

Schedule

This position will require approximately 4–6 hours of work per day, scheduled between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. The position is expected to continue through Spring 2027, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.
