Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor – Surgical ICU (Third Shift) (Finance)

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the Surgical ICU at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The RN Supervisor will support the Medical Center's Surgical ICU, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence, demonstrating the ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Lead and implement operational improvement initiatives and ensure compliance through staff coaching and mentoring.
  • Identify needs for specific equipment and ensure availability of adequate and properly functioning equipment and supplies for patient care.
  • Ensure shift practice compliance with state and federal medical laws (EMTALA, HIPAA, and House Bill 316).
  • Maintain hospital-wide and department-specific nursing competencies and complete annual competencies within the required time frame.
  • Collaborate with the Department Educator and/or provide orientation and educational needs as identified in the department.
  • Engage staff in departmental performance improvement (PI) activities according to the department PI plan.
  • Provide immediate counseling for staff when specific behaviors or incidents negatively affect patient care or the work environment.
