Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor – ENT and Burn ICU (Third Shift) (Finance)

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the ENT and Burn ICUs at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The RN Supervisor will support the Medical Center's ENT and Burn ICUs, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Unit Details
Ear Nose Throat (ENT)-2CCP Annex

The ENT Unit serves a diverse older adolescent and adult patient population with head and neck cancer surgery requiring reconstruction with free flaps and new surgical airways such as tracheostomies, laryngectomies, and stents, treatment of airway stenosis, and other ENT reconstruction surgery. The inpatient ICU is a 6-bed unit with variable acuity.

Burns Special Care Unit (BSCU)- 5 South

The Burn Special Care Service (BSCU) serves diverse older adolescents and adult patient populations with burn injury and reconstruction, ENT reconstruction surgery, airway surgery, and complex wounds such as free flaps or amputations with reattachment with plastics and orthopedic surgery. The inpatient ICU is a 10-bed unit with variable acuity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required
  • Minimum of two to four years of clinical nursing experience in the clinical specialty
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervises staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence, demonstrating coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Leads operational improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance through staff coaching.
  • Identifies equipment needs and ensures availability of properly functioning supplies.
  • Ensures shift practice compliance with state and federal laws (EMTALA, HIPAA, House Bill 316).
  • Maintains and completes annual nursing competencies.
  • Collaborates on educational needs and provides orientation as needed.
  • Engages staff in departmental performance improvement activities.

Provides immediate counseling for staff when behaviors or incidents negatively affect patient care or the work environment.
