Job summary

Community Services for Every1 in Buffalo, NY is seeking a nursing coordinator to oversee medical care and training for individuals in OPWDD settings. You will monitor healthcare plans, coordinate medication administration, and supervise staff.

Must be licensed registered nurse in NY, with 2-year degree minimum, willing to travel up to 25% and maintain compliance with regulations; strong communication and training skills required.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered by New York State Department of Education in Nursing.
• Experience in OPWDD certified residential/day habilitation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Displays leadership and acts as a mentor within the department. Serves as a role model in adhering to Management Standards and Expectations. Displays ethical decision making.
• Models and promotes Person Centered Planning, considering the dreams and goals of individuals being served.
• Assists in training and mentoring Registered Nurses.
• Coordinates and oversees the training of AMAP staff to include the Medication Administration Curriculum and Medication Pours.
• Develops medical/healthcare training tools to include guidance materials for nutrition and personal healthcare for Direct Support Professionals. Provides recommendations, materials and input to the training department for staff training development.
