Clinical Psychologist V, VI – Hawaii District Administration

This posting is used to fill Clinical Psychologist VI positions that provide services to students at various schools within the Hawaii District as needed and assigned by the Hawaii District Administration Office. The authorized level of the positions is Clinical Psychologist VI. Applications are being accepted down to the Clinical Psychologist V in the event of recruiting difficulties.
All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. Placement above the initial step will be based on special characteristics, critical needs of the position, exceptional qualifications, availability of funds, and other factors. Such appointments require prior approval and are in accordance with Department regulations.
Clinical Psychologist V, SR‑24: $6,043.00 – $7,351.00 per month
Clinical Psychologist VI, SR‑26: $6,535.00 – $7,952.00 per month

For Level VI, applicants must also possess a minimum of one additional year of professional clinical psychology experience involving psycho‑diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with severe problems of personality, social, emotional adjustment, or mental retardation, comparable to Level V in the State service.
Possession of the required number of years of experience will not be accepted as proof of qualification alone. The applicant’s overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Within two years from the date of appointment as a Clinical Psychologist V or higher, the applicant must meet licensing requirements and obtain a license issued by the Hawaii State Board of Psychology, as required by Chapter 465, HRS. Failure to obtain the license within two years may result in termination from State service.

Salary: The advertised salary is based on full‑time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable.
Requirements: Applicants must meet all specified requirements for the position at the time of application, unless otherwise stated. Experience calculation follows full‑time, 40‑hour weeks; part‑time experience is prorated.

Temporary positions may be extended year to year based on funding and departmental needs. Temporary employees may become permanent after satisfactory completion of at least six months probation.

New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.
