Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
• Current, unrestricted psychology license in the practicing state.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable role.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological screenings and assessments based on records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Collaborates with psychiatrists, mental health staff, physicians, nurses, social workers to ensure integrated care.
• Develops and adjusts individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and functioning.
• Conducts rounds in segregation or confinement areas to monitor inmate mental health needs.
• Applies counseling theories and techniques to treat individuals on caseload.
• Provides crisis intervention and avoidance strategies during mental health crises.
• Consults with clinical and security staff to understand escalation causes and changes in condition.
