Job description

Summary:
The Clinical Program Manager RN Professional Practice supports the implementation, oversight, and evaluation of nursing professional practice initiatives across the health system. This role collaborates closely with the System Director RN Professional Practice and clinical teams to promote nursing excellence through standardized frameworks, shared governance, and evidence-based practice. The Clinical Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring consistent professional practice standards and fostering a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the System Director RN Professional Practice to operationalize the standardized nursing professional practice model across the system.
  2. Support the development and implementation of shared governance structures to enhance nurse involvement in decision-making.
  3. Ensure nursing practice standards are consistently applied across all facilities.
  4. Partner with the Program Manager RN Education to coordinate education and training programs that support professional practice initiatives, including evidence-based practice, shared governance, and leadership development.
  5. Serve as a resource to nurse leaders and staff regarding professional practice standards.
  6. Collaborate with quality and performance improvement teams to monitor and evaluate the impact of professional practice initiatives on clinical outcomes.
  7. Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in professional practice.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the System Director and facility-based nursing leaders to ensure alignment of professional practice initiatives.
  9. Facilitate communication and collaboration across interprofessional teams to enhance patient outcomes and staff engagement.
  10. Support programs that recognize and celebrate nursing achievements, including certifications, academic advancements, and professional contributions.
  11. For a Magnet-designated facility, serve as the Magnet Program Director.

Other information:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  2. Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including 2 years of leadership experience. Experience with shared governance and/or Magnet designation is preferred.
  4. Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises up to X FTE.
