Job description

Summary:
The Clinical Program Manager RN * Education is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing education programs across the health system. This role supports the System Director RN Education by coordinating system-wide initiatives that foster professional development, enhance clinical competencies, and ensure regulatory compliance. The Clinical Program Manager works collaboratively with nursing leaders and educators to provide innovative learning opportunities and standardized training resources to meet the diverse needs of clinical and non-clinical nursing staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the design, rollout, and evaluation of standardized education programs including orientation, onboarding, and ongoing competency development for nursing staff.
  2. Develop and implement training modules for new policies, procedures, and clinical technologies.
  3. Help develop and update policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines in alignment with system goals and regulatory requirements.
  4. Coordinate specialty training and certification programs for nursing staff such as critical care, perioperative nursing, and advanced practice roles.
  5. Facilitate access to continuing education opportunities, professional certifications, and leadership development programs.
  6. Partner with Program Managers-RN, Professional Practice nurses, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to assess educational needs and priorities.
  7. Act as a liaison between the System Director and facility-level education teams to ensure alignment and resource sharing.
  8. Leverage technology such as e-learning platforms, simulation, and virtual learning tools to enhance educational offerings, promoting innovative teaching strategies that address various learning styles and needs.
  9. Ensure educational programs meet state, federal, and accreditation standards, including competency documentation and training requirements.
  10. Maintain records and prepare reports related to nursing education for internal and external audits.
  11. Use data and feedback to measure the effectiveness of education programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  12. Collaborate with quality and patient safety teams to integrate education into performance improvement initiatives.
  13. Provide guidance and support to facility-based educators and clinical instructors.
Other information:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing Education or a related field preferred
  • Active RN licensure in the state of practice

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including 2 years of leadership or education experience
  • Experience with education initiatives or multi-state responsibilities is highly desirable

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervises up to 50 FTE
