BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Heart and Vascular Center program. You will oversee nursing and clerical staff, manage day-to-day operations, and coordinate strategic planning, finance, and contracts to support patient care excellence.

Overview

Provides effective leadership of the overall management of a clinical program, including day to day office operations, work redesign, budget and human resource management of nursing and clerical staff. Also responsible for strategic planning, program design/implementation, marketing and finance. May also oversee managed care contracts and informatics.

Provides effective leadership of the overall management of a clinical program, including day to day office operations, work redesign, budget and human resource management of nursing and clerical staff. Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
• Directs operations and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
• Collaborates with health care team members to provide patient care. Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards; keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed.
• Ensures patients and families receive education throughout continuum of care.
• Monitors care to optimize patient outcomes.
• Manages the health care of a specific population of patients.
