Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients and develop treatment plans to optimize physical performance across adults and children. You will apply modalities, supervise discharge planning, and tailor in-home programs as appropriate.

Candidates must hold a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy and be licensed to practice in Illinois, with CPR certification. The role involves collaborations with a multidisciplinary team and occasional research participation.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in physical therapy (PT) from an accredited school.
• Current license to practice in Illinois.
• CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physical therapy modalities.
• Ability to lift 20–50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient's physical and functional status including strength, motor function, reflexes, gait and ADLs.
• Assesses pain levels and implements treatment plan with modalities and exercises.
• Documents evaluations and progress for physicians and insurers.
• Collaborates with physicians, patients and families; participates in education and research as needed.
