Job summary

Potomac Healthcare Solutions, LLC invites applications for a full-time Pharmacy Technician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, entering data, and ensuring drug safety through checks for interactions and allergies.

Qualified candidates have a minimum of two years as a Pharmacy Technician post-graduation, hold an ASHP-accredited program or hospital-based training, and a valid US state license, with BLS and US citizenship

Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years as a Pharmacy Technician post-graduation.
Graduate of an ASHP-accredited program or formal hospital-based training.
Valid, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in at least one US state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Review prescriptions for full range of pharmaceuticals, including controlled drugs.
Enter prescriptions into outpatient systems and check for allergies and interactions.
Coordinate with prescriber or pharmacist to clarify dosing and instructions.
Prepare sterile products for ICU and complex parenteral medications.
Maintain records, ensure chain of custody for controlled substances, and train staff.
