Care New England is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation, distribution, and patient care under the direction of a Clinical Pharmacist. The role involves using ADC systems, restocking inventory, and ensuring accurate dispensing in a hospital setting.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 1–3 years of pharmacy tech experience, RI registration, and knowledge of pharmaceuticals and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Registered in Rhode Island as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Limited.
  • National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, hazardous materials and controlled substances.

Responsibilities

  • Fills and delivers medications through ADC systems.
  • Answer and triage pharmacy calls and messages from hospital staff.
  • Communicates with the Clinical Pharmacist to provide accurate information.
  • Completes monthly medication room, ADC, and outdate inspections.
  • Assists in restocking inventory.
  • Pre-packs bulk medications and compounds ointments, creams and oral solutions.
  • Set up and refills crash cart trays.
  • Prepares IV mixtures and minibags per MARs.
