Responsibilities

• Receive and review prescriptions to determine correct substance, dosage, and quantity.
• Enter prescription information into a computer system and check patient profiles for allergies and interactions.
• File prescriptions, prepare labels, and verify medication against orders.
• Provide instructions to patients on proper use and refer complex questions to a pharmacist.
• Work with other technicians and pharmacists to ensure efficient patient care and service.
