Job summary

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to fill routine orders for unit doses and non-prescription meds under supervision. You will interpret EPIC labels, assist with Pyxis and dose-edge systems, and ensure pharmacist oversight.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Good communication, customer service, and computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Understand the pharmacy workflow for medication returns and disposal.
• Interpret medical abbreviations and differentiate medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, Now).
• Accurately interpret EPIC pharmacy labels and have them reviewed by a Pharmacist.
• Troubleshoot Pyxis equipment and manage inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare non-sterile compounding and packaging; label and document procedures.
• Answer phones and address missing medications; respond to Pyxis stockouts promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety, infection control, and department policies.
