Job summary

Providence Saint John’s Medical Foundation in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to coordinate and support Pharmacy Services. Responsibilities include sterile compounding, maintaining ADM, inventory, and processing specialty orders while adhering to USP 797/800 standards, in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires licensure and relevant experience, with preferred PTCB certification and hazardous drug handling training.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacy Technician License required.
• 3 years of pharmacy practice (≥ 6,240 hours) in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification.
• 4 years (≥ 8,320 hours) of experience if technician does not have PTCB certification.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management preferred.
• Oncology experience or hospital work experience preferred.
• Pharmacy technician program training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounds using aseptic technique, hazardous and non-hazardous.
• Maintain and stock automated dispensing machine (ADM).
• Inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies.
• Order, stock, and receive medications and supplies.
• Process specialty orders and manage IV room standards per USP 797/800.
