The UCSF Health Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive services across the Medical Center and affiliated locations. The Pharmacy Technician 2/PD role supports medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management with flexibility to work at all UCSF Health locations.

Requirements include completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program, a minimum of two years of hospital pharmacy tech experience, and California licensure.

Qualificações

• Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands-on training).
• Min. two (2) years as Pharmacy Tech in Hospitals or Health Care or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patient medication orders including unit dose, cartfill, compounded oral/IV medications, chemotherapy orders, and controlled substances.
• Ensure quality and integrity of medication preparations in compliance with standards and laws.
• Coordinate timely delivery and refill of medications to patient drawers and unit dose cassettes.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy automation and electronic health records.
• Oversee inventory management including cycle counts and stock updates in dispensing cabinets.
• Maintain records for drug inventory and control substances per policy.
• Report discrepancies to nursing and pharmacist in charge with proper documentation.
• Provide pharmaceutical care and interact with nurses, physicians, and other providers.
• Triage issues from providers and provide prompt service at the window.
• Serve as trainer for pharmacy learners to ensure professional growth.
