Job summary

Option Care Health in Hoover, AL is seeking an assistant to support pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. You will help with prescription processing, equipment prep, and basic patient interactions to ensure accurate and timely medication delivery.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, 0–6 months of relevant experience, and being licensed or registered within 6 months if required by the state.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–6 months of relevant experience.
• Licensed or registered within 6 months of hire (if required by state).
• Successful enrollment and completion of OCH designated training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Review/validate basic prescription drug refill requests and process according to policies.
• Assist with preparing and dispensing medications & supplies.
• Maintain equipment through calibration, inspection, cleaning and reporting defects.
• Collect and maintain basic patient information for planning materials and prescriptions.
• Help ensure a positive patient experience by answering basic questions.
• Receive and verify quantities of incoming supplies; stock and track inventory.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows.
• Schedule routine patient deliveries.
