Job summary

TriCities Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to design, implement and manage hospital pharmacy programs. You will oversee formulary management, policy development and education across the care spectrum, and lead critical care interdisciplinary rounds.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, an active license, and previous hospital pharmacy experience with leadership skills. You will support antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety and daily operations while training

Qualifications

  • B.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy is required
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board
  • Minimum 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Hospital pharmacy experience (5+ years) preferred

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the pharmacy clinical programs. This includes formulary management, policy and procedure development and education across the healthcare spectrum. The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator shall be responsible for the critical care interdisciplinary rounds Monday through Friday.

Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed

Sustains the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection

Supports participation in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds (may need to attend)

Identifies, designs and analyzes drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and determines action plan based on results

Provides accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients

What qualifications you will need:
  • B.S. or Pharm D. degree in Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pharmacy Clinical Specialist with 2-3 years of experience
  • 1 year of Leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience - Preferred

This individual will serve as a key support to the Director of Pharmacy. The role is responsible for advancing antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, overseeing formulary management, and promoting medication safety to ensure optimal patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.

The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator will play an active role in contributing to daily pharmacy operations while maintaining high standards of clinical care and staffing as needed. In addition, this position will support the training and orientation of new clinical pharmacists, helping to foster a strong, knowledgeable, and collaborative team environment.

This role involves representing pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees, contributing to patient-centered decisions, and leading performance and quality improvement initiatives. It includes overseeing policy compliance, reviewing medication use for optimization, and providing clinical consultations to support safe and effective patient care.
