Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Pharmacy Manager for the Hazleton area to oversee clinical pharmacy services and the medication use process. The role emphasizes supervising staff, ensuring safe and cost-effective therapies, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and patients to optimize medication therapy management.

The manager will monitor staffing, evaluate practices, develop new programs, and address staff and patient issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Required).
• Minimum 1 year of managerial/supervisory experience and minimum 3 years related work experience (Required).
• Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania (State license).

Responsibilities

• Performs all pharmacist duties and responsibilities for their practice area.
• Accountable for ensuring that ‘best practice’ standards of clinical care are maintained, patient satisfaction is optimized, and an efficient medication use process and workflow is achieved.
• Evaluates the department’s current pharmacy practice and makes recommendations.
• Oversees and plans for the development of new programs based on need and opportunity.
• Responsible for addressing and resolving employee and patient issues, seeking advice when necessary to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
• Performs all performance management activities for assigned staff.
• Ensures adequate staffing levels and skill mix to support patient care.
• Responsible for staff recruitment and hiring processes in assigned area.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards and maintains department policies.
• Develops and audits department policies and procedures.
