Job summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking Pharmacy Interns who are motivated to expand their clinical knowledge across specialty disease states and to grow their patient management skills under pharmacist supervision.

Interns will collaborate with clinical pharmacists, coordinate refills and deliveries, and provide patient counseling where appropriate. Documentation in Epic/Compass Rose and call triage are integral to daily duties.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Doctor of Pharmacy program
• Apply for and maintain Pharmacy Intern License with the Maine Board of Pharmacy
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Doctor of Pharmacy program

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical pharmacists to manage patient care in specialty disease states
• Outreach to specialty patients to coordinate refills and deliveries
• Provide patient counseling when appropriate with pharmacist oversight
• Document all patient encounters in Epic/Compass Rose
• Data entry/refill management in Epic Willow Ambulatory
• Triage incoming phone calls appropriately
