Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC seeks a Pharmacy Intern to support dispensing, drug information and clinical monitoring under a licensed pharmacist. You’ll work with Pyxis, Cerner/PowerChart and CI/IV admixture, ensuring accurate drug distribution and patient safety.

You must be enrolled in a full-time accredited pharmacy program with CA BOP intern status and complete LA City safety training if required. This is a hospital-based internship with emphasis on hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Student enrolled in full-time accredited pharmacy school program.
• Minimum knowledge of drug trade and generic names and pharmacy calculations.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
• Organization/time management skills.
• Intern Pharmacist (CA BOP).
• Fire Life Safety Training within LA City; card to be obtained if not on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense and distribute medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with Pyxis systems and barcode checking of medications.
• Support chemotherapy prep with closed system transfer devices.
• Document pharmacy logs and assist with inventory control.
• Assist in patient counseling and clinical monitoring as directed.
