Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team in a PRN capacity. You will review medication orders, provide patient-specific recommendations, and mentor students and staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include compounding and dispensing sterile and non-sterile products, collaborating with prescribers, and ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness in pharmacotherapy. Missouri license required.

Qualifications

• MO license to practice as a Pharmacist is required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• ASHP-accredited residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness using EMR data.
• Prioritize orders by acuity (STAT, NOW, routine) to ensure timely care.
• Provide patient-specific medication recommendations for safety and cost-effectiveness.
• Educate and train pharmacy students, technicians, and residents.
• Serve as a resource for pharmacotherapy questions and literature discussions.
• Compound and dispense sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations as needed.
