Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services across multiple programs and support governance of formulary and patient safety initiatives. You will participate in rounds, mentor staff, and collaborate with medical staff to optimize pharmacotherapy and ensure regulatory compliance at Centerpoint Medical Center in Missouri.

Qualifications

• B.S. or PharmD from ACPE-accredited School or PharmD preferred
• Completion of hospital PGY1 residency or equivalent experience
• Completion of PGY2 residency or fellowship preferred
• Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or relevant specialty board certification required; other certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and verify them in the pharmacy system
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies and dosing
• Provide clinical consultation to practitioners and suggest cost-effective alternatives
• Support formulary and promote rational drug therapy
• Participate in rounds and drug utilization evaluations
• Provide medication information to staff and patients
• Train and mentor pharmacy staff and students
• Maintain regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of clinical interventions
