Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a pharmacist responsible for overseeing the preparation and dispensing of medications, verifying orders and monitoring patient therapy.

You will serve as a resource for medication information to patients and healthcare professionals within a supportive team. The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy with an active pharmacist license and, for Missouri practice, a Medication Therapy Service Certificate within 90 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from ACPE-accredited school.
• Licensure: Current pharmacist license from applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• Certifications: Pharmacists practicing in Missouri must have a Medication Therapy Service Certificate within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the preparation and dispensing of medication and medication order verification.
• Monitors patient medication therapy and provides medication information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Identifies, resolves, and prevents medication-related problems; intervenes with physicians as needed.
• Supervises pharmacy support personnel to ensure timely medication administration.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, protocols and regulatory standards.

Position Details
