The role requires completion of advanced pharmacy education (Pharm.D. or equivalent) and relevant experience, with compliance to federal employment prerequisites including background checks and licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service.
• Experience in comprehensive medication therapy management, direct patient assessment, and pharmacotherapy recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, modify, and evaluate drug therapy to optimize outcomes; obtain drug histories and counsel patients.
• Perform pharmaceutical compounding for sterile and non-sterile preparations and extemporaneous formulations.
• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness based on guidelines, patient factors, and formulary options.
• Dispense medications with attention to accuracy, labeling, and safety.
