Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a part-time clinical pharmacist to ensure safe and cost-effective medication use. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize drug therapy, counsel patients, and perform antimicrobial stewardship and other pharmacy duties.

The role emphasizes accurate dispensing, adherence to HIPAA, and participation in quality improvement, with licensure in Iowa and a Pharm.D. degree required. Schedule: 24 hours per week, rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. required with Iowa pharmacist licensure by examination or reciprocity.
• Demonstrated competence in pharmaceutical care for 2–3 years; residency training preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective medication use.
• Provide drug therapy initiation and monitoring recommendations to care teams.
• Counsel patients on drug therapies and administration.
• Perform antimicrobial stewardship activities as requested.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in quality improvement activities.
