Job summary

US Indian Health Service is seeking a clinical pharmacist to provide direct pharmaceutical care for patients within the Indian Health Service. The role is a major source of clinical information and involves managing selected patients with chronic diseases and providing care for acute cases.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by ACPE or equivalent.
• Licensed to practice in a U.S. state, DC, PR, or U.S. territory.
• Must pass NAPLEX and MPJE.
• Must be able to distinguish basic colors.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and providing information about proper usage and side effects.
• Evaluating medication use patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care.
• Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for the facility's pharmacy program.
• Planning, monitoring and evaluating medication programs or regimens.
• Establishing medication-handling procedures for storage and preservation of medications.
• Researching medical literature to provide accurate responses to inquiries; maintaining medication records.
