Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Pharmacist to provide clinical support and distribution services in coordination with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff. The role focuses on quality, cost-effective drug therapy and leadership of staff.

The Pharmacist will profile orders, review interactions, and ensure accurate dispensing while maintaining records and supporting programs to improve patient outcomes. Travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Must complete continuing education as required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Profile medication orders accurately per policy.
• Review allergies, interactions, and dosing for appropriateness.
• Consult with Physicians, Nursing, and other healthcare professionals to resolve order discrepancies.
• Dispense unit dose tablets, capsules, liquids, topical, ophthalmic preparations.
• Maintain records and documentation for prescriptions and controlled substances.
• Monitor pharmacokinetics, dosing, and drug information for staff and patients.
• Manage controlled substances inventory and reporting.
