Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Pharmacist to provide clinical support and distribution services, coordinating with physicians, nurses and staff to deliver quality drug therapy. The role leads daily activities of staff and ensures regulatory compliance and patient safety.

The position requires a PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree, PA licensure within 90 days, and continuing education. Travel between Independence locations may be required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Maintain continuing education as required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong leadership, organization, judgment, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Profile medication orders accurately per policy and procedure.
• Review allergies, interactions, dosing and appropriateness.
• Consult with physicians and nurses to resolve order discrepancies.
• Dispense unit doses and compounded medications with accuracy.
• Maintain documentation and regulatory compliance for controlled substances.
• Provide clinical pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing guidance.
• Educate staff and the public on drug information topics.
• Support performance improvement programs and quality initiatives.
