Responsibilities

• Provides medication order-entry, drug distribution, and patient care.
• Reviews prescriptions for safety and clinical efficacy; ensures appropriate drug therapy.
• Performs prior authorizations/appeals for medications with EMR data or providers.
• Educates patients on medications and supportive care; develops care plans.
• Oversees pharmacy support personnel and ensures task accuracy; may lead shifts.
• Acts as liaison between pharmacy and patient care areas to solve distribution issues.
