Job summary

MyMichigan Health Pharmacy seeks a Pharmacist to screen prescriptions for correctness and appropriateness, ensuring the most suitable medications and doses are used for patients from birth to 100+ years, and to monitor for interactions, allergies, and contraindications.

You will supervise intravenous admixtures, manage the pharmacy workflow across shifts, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds with nurses, physicians, dietitians, and social workers to support safe, evidence‑based patient

• Basic knowledge of personal computer needed to enter prescription information.
• Organizational skills needed to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understanding manner.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews all prescriptions for correctness and appropriateness and dispenses the most appropriate medications for individual patients.
• Supervises the preparation of intravenous admixtures and parenteral products.
• Responsible for the pharmacy workflow and leadership on their shift and communication between shifts. Follows up on problems during the course of the daily shift.
• Participates in patient care rounds with nursing, physicians, dietitians, social workers and other health professionals to provide multidisciplinary approach to the care of each patient.
