Job summary

Saint Joseph East is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support doctors and nurses in safe prescribing and dispensing of medications. You will review every prescription before final check, focusing on interactions, dosing, allergies, and appropriateness, ensuring patient safety with each encounter.

You’ll document clinical activities, communicate drug information to patients and health professionals, and continually expand knowledge across all age groups to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree required (PharmD or equivalent) and KY licensure by hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required by hire.
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and ensure safety before dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for interactions, dosing, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Enter/verify orders in computer system and dispense medications.
• Verify medications prepared by others and ensure accurate labeling.
• Communicate drug information to patients and health professionals to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain knowledge base to provide clinical services across age groups.
• Maintain working knowledge of automated systems.
