Job summary

You will review physician orders, supervise technicians, and ensure safe dispensing while maintaining patient profiles and inventory. Prior experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred, with strong knowledge of MS Office and state licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited degree (B.S. or Pharm.D.) required.
• Five years of pharmacy experience preferred, healthcare/long-term care preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and assists pharmacy team by interpreting orders, weighing and mixing ingredients, and detecting incompatibilities.
• Dispenses medications by maintaining procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling per policy and law.
• Assists in maintaining records (pharmacy files, patient profiles, inventories, controlled substances).
• Monitors drug therapies and advises interventions.
• Directs technicians' workflow and verifies preparation and labeling.
• Uses computer systems to screen for interactions and dosing issues.
• Provides pharmacological information and counsels health care professionals and patients.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal drug laws and disposal guidelines.
• Maintains infection-control protocols; minimal travel may be required.
