Job summary

Synchrony Pharmacy Louisville is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support the care of residents in long-term care settings. You will oversee medication preparation, dispensing, and patient counseling while ensuring compliance with all laws and facility policies.

Applicants should have a Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy, ACPE accreditation, and at least five years of pharmacy experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected, and some travel for site coverage may be required.

Qualifications

Pharmacy degree (B.S. or Pharm.D.) accredited by ACPE.
Five years’ experience in a pharmacy environment preferred in healthcare or long-term care.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assist in medication preparation by reviewing orders and weighing and mixing ingredients.
Dispense medications following policy and legal requirements to ensure safety and accuracy.
Maintain records such as patient profiles, inventory, and controlled substances.
Monitor drug therapies and advise on interventions.
Train staff, interns, and residents in pharmacological practices.
Comply with state and federal drug laws and disposal guidelines.
Maintain infection-control protocols and ensure patient safety.
Limited travel including overnight stays as necessary.
