Job summary

Montu UK is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) to join our London team. You will review prescriptions, prescribe where appropriate and provide clinical guidance within a multidisciplinary setting, focusing on cannabis-based medicinal products.

This hybrid role is based at our King's Cross office with three days on site and two days remote; you will support education, patient safety and clinical governance while training new staff.

Qualifications

• GPhC registered pharmacist with Independent Prescriber qualification.
• Minimum two years of prescribing experience.
• Experience in a clinical setting.
• Cannabis-based medicinal products knowledge desirable but training provided.
• Excellent communication and patient engagement skills.
• Strong clinical judgement and evidence-based prescribing.

Responsibilities

• Clinically check and review CBPM prescriptions to ensure safety, accuracy and appropriateness.
• Prescribe medicines as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatment to patient needs.
• Provide expert clinical guidance to patients and prescribers on treatment options.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with GPhC standards.
• Support the dispensary team with complex clinical queries and prescribing matters.
• Deliver education and training on CBPM to patients, clinicians and colleagues.
• Collaborate with Clinical and Pharmacy teams to ensure safe patient journeys.
• Contribute to development of clinical pathways and patient care improvements.
• Ensure all clinical activities meet professional, regulatory and organisational standards.

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) to join our growing London team. As a Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber), you will provide safe, effective and personalised treatment to patients with a wide range of clinical needs. Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for clinically reviewing prescriptions, prescribing appropriate treatments and providing expert clinical guidance to patients and colleagues. You will also contribute to the development of clinical pathways, support patient and staff education and play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. This is a hybrid position based at our King's Cross office in London, requiring three days on site and two days working remotely. Please note you will be required to work 1 Saturday per month onsite, for which a day in lieu will be given.What will you be doing?

• Ensure all clinical activities are conducted in accordance with professional, regulatory and organisational standards.
• GPhC registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
• A minimum of two years of prescribing experience.
• Experience working within a clinical setting.
• Previous knowledge or experience of cannabis-based medicinal products is desirable but not essential, as specialist training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with patients and clinical colleagues.
• Strong clinical judgement and the ability to make safe, evidence-based prescribing decisions.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, resourceful and solutions-focused approach.
