Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacist to assist with clinical program development, clinical monitoring, medication reconciliation, formulary management and cost containment to improve patient care.

The pharmacist will build professional relationships with departments, staff and patients, educate on medications, supervise technicians, verify orders, support antimicrobial stewardship, and help maintain accreditation. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in Texas.
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV experience/certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with pharmacy information systems.
• On-call availability.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Vendor credentialing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Adjust dosages per established protocols and support antimicrobial stewardship.
• Educate patients on medications and discharge plans.
• Manage inventory and ensure compliance; audit outdated medications.
• Coordinate with Nurses and Physicians to verify orders.
• Assist Pharmacy Director with accreditation and process changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
